purple lipstick

Inspired by this post on powderdoom, I impulsively bought some purple lipstick whilst I was shopping for nail polish with my friend, I was extremely disappointed by my purchase I ended up buying two different one's the following day to fulfill the Debbie Thornberry-shaped hole in my heart.

Left to right: Revlon 'Black Cherry', 17 'Scrumptious', Kate Moss for Rimmel London ' 04'.

17's 'Scrumptious' which has the worst pigment I've ever encountered, even though there was a nifty mirror that popped out of the tube I would not recommend it at all.

After my disappointment, I headed to my local Superdrug and came across two lipsticks in the shade I was looking for, Revlon in 'Black Cherry' and my personal favourite brand, Kate Moss for Rimmel London in '04'.

Swatches, left-to-right: Revlon, 17 and Kate Moss for Rimmel.
As you can see by the swatches the 17 comes out kind of like a gloss, it barely shows up at all it's just a waste of money, STAY AWAY.

If you're looking for a darker, almost burgundy type colour then go for the Revlon, it's fantastic and goes on great, would definitely recommend!

But my personal favourite, which I've worn for the last four consecutive days is the Rimmel, I have three other Kate Moss for Rimmel and they are my favourite lipsticks I love them dearly so, but this is my new baby, exactly the shade I had in mind when I went looking for it, and stays on super well, only need to re-apply maybe 1-2 times during my 7 hour college day (including lunch).

In short, I'm in love with Rimmel and I want to be Debbie Thornberry.

Available at: Boots and Superdrug
Price: Around five pounds each
Would buy the Revlon and Rimmel again.

Okay, bye!
